Our HSA partners with families, educators, and the community to support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students with special needs. We advocate for inclusive practices, equitable resources, and meaningful opportunities so every child can thrive.

We are a volunteer-led group of parents, guardians, teachers, support staff, and community members who bring diverse perspectives and lived experience. Membership is open to all family members and school staff. We value collaboration, respect, and strengths-based approaches.

What We Do

• Advocate: Work with school leadership to ensure accessible classrooms, individualized supports, and fair policies. Represent family voices at school board or district meetings when appropriate.

• Communicate: Share timely information about school programs, services, events, and available community resources. Provide translation or alternative-format materials when needed.

• Fundraise: Raise funds for sensory equipment, adaptive technology, classroom supplies, transportation assistance, therapy supports, tuition scholarships for extracurricular programs, and emergency family aid.

• Educate: Host workshops, training, and speaker events on topics such as IEP/504 planning, behavior strategies, communication tools, assistive technology, transition planning, and navigating services.

• Build Community: Organize inclusive family nights, respite care opportunities, peer support groups, sibling activities, and staff appreciation events that bring families and school staff together.

• Volunteer & Support: Coordinate classroom help, event volunteers, field trip assistants, and mentorship programs tailored to student needs and safety requirements.

How to Get Involved

• Share your ideas, needs, or resources with HSA leaders or school staff.
